Verizon Customers - No more UNLIMITED DATA

Sad to say for all my Verizon customers out there but straight from the mouth of Verizon's CEO at a recent investor conference "Unlimited is just a word, it doesn't really mean anything." Meaning that they are pushing these new Shared Data plans. If you have been on Verizon for a few years now and were lucky enough to have been grandfathered in on the Unlimited Data for $30 a month your choices are as follows.

1 - If you upgrade to a new phone and renew your contract for another 2 years to subsidize the cost of that awesome new smart phone then you will have to pick one of the shared data plans that the company now offers so Smartphone + $40 Basic Phone + $30 Verizon Jetpack USB Modem + $20 Tablet + $10 Unlimited Talk & Text with 1GB Shared Data $50/month Monthly Account AccessUnlimited Talk & Text with 2GB Shared Data $60/month Monthly Account AccessUnlimited Talk & Text with 4GB Shared Data $70/month Monthly Account AccessUnlimited Talk & Text with 6GB Shared Data $80/month Monthly Account AccessUnlimited Talk & Text with 8GB Shared Data $90/month Monthly Account AccessUnlimited Talk & Text with 10GB Shared Data $100/month

2. To keep the Unlimited Data for $30 a month buy a Unsubsidized phone (off contract full price) and just activate it and nothing chances...yeahhh!!. You have to calculate do you save money on the long run after you just bought a $500 or $600 phone??

Do you even go through that much data?? for some people that use their phone on a daily basis for Voice, email, texts, GPS and as a hotspot you might want to stick with the Grandfathered price. But really for most regular comsumers do you go through 2 GB a month?? That is another consideration when making this choice. Go online check you r accoun to really see how much you use each month and calculate out the price difference if you were to switch to the shared data plan. In the end as we always say it comes down to each individual person and their usage.
